Founder and CEO Bridget Hamre, PhD, Transitioning to Board Chair

Charlottesville, Va., March 5, 2025 — Teachstone, a leading education technology company dedicated to strengthening the impact of teacher-student interactions with innovative evidence-based tools and services, today announced Karlo Young as its new CEO. A mission-driven leader with over 20 years of experience, Young has a long-held commitment to enabling greater access to quality education. He will leverage this passion and expertise to drive strategic growth and lead Teachstone in its next phase as it continues to have a greater impact in classrooms globally.

Young most recently served as President, Concentric Holdings, Inc., where he led efforts to reduce chronic absenteeism in K-12 schools and provide individualized support for students facing barriers to success. As senior vice president and portfolio general manager at 2U, he was responsible for over $250 million in revenue across North America and EMEA, spearheading strategic growth initiatives for 2U’s portfolio of international university and corporate partners, impacting millions of learners worldwide. In addition to his tenure at 2U, Young was an investment banker at Signal Hill Capital, Director at KPMG, and Manager at Deloitte. He has distinguished himself throughout his career through his focus on and leadership around people and culture, operational excellence, and digital transformation and innovation aligned with mission.

Outside of Teachstone, Young is the President of the Board of Trustees for the Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust (B.E.S.T.) and Vice President of the Board of Trustees at The Gilman School. Young holds a BS from Drexel University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

With the appointment of Young to CEO, co-Founder and CEO Bridget Hamre, PhD, will transition to the role of Chair of the Board. Under Dr. Hamre’s leadership, Teachstone has expanded CLASS® implementation at scale, driving impact through high-value partnerships with the Office of Head Start, the U.S. Army, Teach for America, and statewide quality improvement initiatives.
