Build A Basic Understanding of CLASS

A CLASS Primer for Teachers is a 1-day training that provides a basic understanding of the CLASS methodology. This product is perfect for teachers who will be observed using the CLASS tool, participating in CLASS professional development and/or want to learn more about CLASS.  In addition, teachers will receive ongoing online support through myTeachstone coaching resources.

Who Should Participate

Infant/Toddler or Pre-K teachers who are new to CLASS and need to learn the basics of what it is and why it is important

Training Summary

Teachers who attend this training will:

  • Obtain a basic level of understanding about CLASS, discover why it is important, and how it can benefit them in classroom practice
  • Engage with teacher professional development
  • Acquire the tools they need to begin improving their interactions with students

Participants receive:

  • A CLASS Primer Participant Guide
  • CLASS Strategy Cards and the CLASS Dictionary
  • Subscription to the CLASS Learning Community

Time Commitment

  • One-day CLASS Primer for Teachers training on March 8, March 11, or March 21
  • Online coaching with a CLASS coach via myTeachstone for approximately 20 minutes every other week for ten months

Support Provided from Leadership

  • Release time to complete the one-day training
  • Time and computer access for coaching sessions

CEUs And Gateway Hours Earned

Training earns 0.7 CEUs and 6.5 Gateway hours
