HOW TO IMPLEMENT CLASS
We’ll partner with your organization to help you improve classroom interactions. We start by focusing on change and building readiness. Next, we train your staff to observe classrooms and collect CLASS data. Finally, we help your staff improve with tailored professional development.
FOCUS ON CHANGE
Help your organization understand how CLASS works and how important their interactions with students are.
Recommended Training:
CLASS Foundations for Teachers – Give teachers a foundational understanding of teacher-child interactions, the CLASS domains and dimensions, and more in this new online CLASS training. (Course video content shows Pre-K classrooms, but concepts are applicable to second grade.)
Introduction to the CLASS Tool – Available either as a live group training or as an online course, this overview of the CLASS tool is designed to help participants learn about effective teacher-child interactions and the ways these interactions help children learn. (Available in both Pre-K and K-3 age levels.)
MEASURE CLASSROOM INTERACTIONS
Collect CLASS data by observing the quality of children’s classroom experiences. Then, create an action plan for improvement and guide your teachers’ professional development.
Recommended Training:
CLASS Observation Training – Gain an in-depth understanding of the CLASS methodology and prepare to reliably observe and assess teaching quality by collecting CLASS data. (Available in pre-K and K-3 age levels as well as a pre-K/K-3 combined training.)
Improve Teaching Quality
Use your CLASS scores to focus on specific areas and give teachers the exact feedback and tools they need to improve.
Recommended Trainings:
CLASS Group Coaching (MMCI) – Train coaches on how to deliver group coaching to teachers in your organization.
CLASS 1-on-1 Video Coaching (MTP) – Train coaches on how to deliver 1-on-1 coaching to teachers through video footage of their teaching.
myTeachstone – Continue coaching teachers, even at a distance, using real classroom footage in myTeachstone, our online CLASS data management and PD platform.
Coaching with myTeachstone – Teach your coaches how to leverage the power of myTeachstone to improve teaching quality.
TRAUMA-INFORMED CLASS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
For students who have been affected by traumatic life experiences, our interactions can profoundly affect child outcomes and how children process and move through trauma. Interactions at the Heart of Healing is a new trauma-informed CLASS professional development series to help teachers support students affected by trauma.
