To recertify, trainers must complete the Observer Recertification by passing the CLASS Reliability Test. Trainers certified in Pre-K and K-3 age levels must also, successfully complete a multiple choice knowledge test. Passing the Trainer Knowledge Test signifies the ability to help trainees correctly sort behaviors into CLASS dimensions.
The format of the Trainer Knowledge Test is very similar to that of the Emotional Support and Classroom Organization domain sorting activities conducted in the CLASS Observation Training. It consists of a multiple choice test where trainers have to sort classroom scenarios according to the CLASS dimension to which they are most related. To prepare for this test, trainers should carefully review the detailed descriptions in the CLASS manual, paying particular attention to the nuances of the tool.
